Artist processThe artistic process can be summarized as the path taken between receiving an idea and the final, executed project.Below I will explain this path, describing each of the decisions made.

I - BriefingHere, I receive the client's idea and discuss with them what they want in the project, what their thoughts are on the production process, and how they envision the final project. These things are important so that in the next step I can produce thumbnails that closely match their vision, or at least thumbnails that won't require much future revision.Often, the client doesn't have a visual perception of the project; they only have an idea in mind, or something they want to build. It's important here that I explain how we can develop the idea and ask about any possible references they might have so that I can find an easier and faster path to developing their idea.

II- Thumbnail
This is one of the main parts of the process; this is where I present all the illustration possibilities I've developed for the client. Here I vary the camera angle, perspective, and composition. If the client allows, I vary the items included in the scene, the setting, and other aspects.
Here I present many layouts to the client so they can see how their idea will look, and this is where they choose whether they want to add more elements to the image or if they want to change the scene and composition. We only move past this part when the client is confident in the final image produced. Here are some examples of thumbnails I made for my personal Tarot Card project.

III- Rough Sketch
After choosing which thumbnail is compatible with the client's ideas, I move on to the illustration, or the main sketch.
Here I will detail the design, the items, and improve the setting, making it as close as possible to what the client wants. In this part, only one piece is produced and presented, but it is this piece that will be refined throughout the entire process to become the client's final piece.Next to this is an example of the Hermit tarot card.

IV - Color TestThe color test is the part where I send the client several color study possibilities. Here, the client will see the setting of the drawing and can choose which colors and compositions look best and convey the feeling they want.If the client's illustration includes line art, I also offer to test colors on the line art; this helps to achieve better harmony.Below I have included some examples of colors tested on the chart; the colors are still base colors, without any idea of light and shadow, just the raw color.

IV - Render
After all the decisions made by the client and all the corrections made together with the client, through constant contact via email, I can execute the final part which is the rendering of the illustration. Here I add the color, create the shadow, and insert the final details.
Next to it you can see the rendered Hermit tarot card, with lighting and ambient effects already done.

However, the process can be modified according to the client's working methods. The important thing is to ultimately arrive at a final product that satisfies the client's needs.

PricesThe rates are discussed during the first part of the process, when I receive the briefing. But the calculation is based on $20 per hour worked.
